This file contains a bunch of data required for making a script edit, or even a retranslation, of Puyo Puyo Fever GBA.

The "Notes" file contains my assorted notes, in no particular order. They honestly kinda suck, but if you actually get something out of them, kudos to you, I guess.

The table file is the real bread and butter of this. It contains as many characters as I could humanly map out, including a few kana and kanji, a handful full-width characters, a lot of control codes, and most, if not all, of the half-width characters used in all languages the game contains. Every character is represented by a 16-bit, little endian value. As such, the table file also presents them this way, to maintain compatibility with most hex editors. It's not really ideal, but it's what can be done with the tools currently available.

Lastly, the .bps patch contains a simple proof of concept of all my studying of the way the game handles data, by translating the first tutorial cutscene's English text, injecting it into empty space (of which this game has tons of!), and pointing to the new address. This is meant to be patched onto a clean Japanese (this means with Japanese voice clips) ROM file with CRC-32 3FFD621A.

While I may end up editing the entire game's script to my liking in the future, my endgame with all this was to reverse engineer the game's variable width font (VWF), and find where in the ROM it's situated in, in order to make a Greek translation of the game. Unfortunately, I could only find static images, and fonts used in multiboot mode and other places. If you, or anyone else, finds out how to do this, please feel free to ping me (Tasos500#9698) on the RHDN Discord server.

For reference, below will be the transcript of my proof of concept translation:

TUTORIAL - BASICS
Good morning. Let's all study how to play Puyo Puyo Fever.
Puyo fall not just in pairs, but in as many as four at a time.
While Puyo can move left and right and rotate, the big ones only change color and don't rotate. How strange...
When at least 4 Puyo of the same color connect horizontally or vertically, you can send Nuisance Puyo to your opponent.
Puyo that disappear in succession make a Chain. When you make many Chains, you can send many Nuisance Puyo to your opponent.
When the two middle rows are filled up, the game is over.
